Oooh La La Cakes


Oooh La Laa also offer traditional Peak District Oatcakes.

Unlike the hard, biscuit-like Scottish version, our Peak District oatcakes are a cross between a crumpet and a pancake - round, soft, pliable and thicker than those from neighbouring Staffordshire.

Oats were a crop that suited the harsh Pennine landscape, so Peak District oatcakes have been a local delicacy since at least the 17th century.

We aim to source ingredients from local suppliers wherever possible, including Caudwell’s Mill at Rowsley for flour and oats, Hartington Creamery at Pikehall for local award-winning cheeses and Peter Darbyshire’s heather honey from Beeley Moor.
